Project Statement

building sisterhood is an ongoing photo-series celebrating women in trades in New York, with the first installation featuring 3 ironworkers (Laney, Bonita, and Julie) from Labor 46 and their sisterhood of over 20 years. The series invites viewers to recognize the women who were part of building the city’s infrastructure, from the World Trade Center to foundation reinforcement across all five boroughs.
